As winter rolls around we need to really look after our locks to make sure they stay shiny and healthy during the cold weather. We spoke to hair guru and master stylist Dylan Bradshaw to get the low-down on the top tips you need to keep your mop healthy this winter. Ladies, take note... Get the chop Having really long hair can sometimes damage your hair health. A lot of people think that if you don't get your hair cut for a long time then it will grow even longer, but this is not the case. As time passes the split ends just move further up the hair shaft damaging it in the process. Turn down the heat If you regularly expose your hair to extreme heat, this can cause long-term damage that is impossible to reverse. One size does not fit all Just because you have curly hair doesn't mean a shampoo specifically for wiry hair is going to work wonders on your locks. Treat haircare like skincare How much do you spend on skincare? Now how much do you spend on Haircare? The chances are there is a big difference. Dylan recommends viewing haircare products as you would a good face cream or moisturiser, which means sometimes splashing out on something that is worthwhile. If a haircare product doesn't feel nice when you put it on the back of your hand, then it won't feel nice in your hair. It's simple.
