"Just as for moisturisers not all topical exfolliating formulations are identical in performance. Whilst salicylic acid helps smooth skin and reduce spots which result in a healthier looking skin, its use in combination with the patented CeraVe MVE technology enhances these properties by controlling its release into the skin to prolong efficacy whilst reducing potential side effects such as redness and irritation".What sets the SA range is the fact that it contains a moisturising complex which helps combat the drying effects of salicylic acid and helps to restore the skin's natural barrier. The cleanser is also designed as a skin-brightening exfoliant but is gentle to be used every day - whether you want to clear congested skin or simply want a glowing complexion. The SA Cleanser can be used for both the body and the face and is priced at €12.50 for 236ml. On to the SA Smoothing Cream, it contains lactic acid (an AHA) as well as salicylic acid (a BHA) and is specifically designed to soften and remove rough and bumpy skin, it 's priced at €12.50 for 177ml. It's also beneficial if you experience Keratosis Pilaris (or KP), which affects 40 percent of adults and adolescents globally.
These small, harmless but unwanted bumps – sometimes referred to as “chicken skin” - are typically found on the back of the arms, thighs, back and buttocks, and are caused by a build-up of the protein keratin, which can plug the hair follicles.
