We love experimenting with our makeup and trying out new trends, especially during festival season. We spoke to the makeup gurus over at wet n wild and they laid down the law and told us the 10 commandments of eye makeup. These little tidbits have stood the test of time and are key when you're trying to nail the perfect smoky eye. 1. Choose your colours carefully. If you want a warm smoky eye, opt for tonal browns and golds but if it's a festival look you're rocking, purple and blue for the win. Thou shalt always blend eyeshadow And for longer than you think is necessary. It's the difference between looking hot and looking like a hot mess. 3. Wash thy brushes well and often You don't want dirt and germs anywhere near your eyes. 5. Thou shalt never double pump mascara This will push more air into the mascara tube which will make it dry out quicker. 6. Never neglect lower lashes When you've applied mascara to your top lashes, use whatever is left on the wand to coat your bottom lashes. It will completely open up your eyes. Thou shalt not match lips and eyes A deep red lippy is great but avoid matching it with a red dress and red eyeshadow. Opt for a powder or kohl pencil instead and smudge it to soften any hard lines. 9. Never ever forget a swish of stunning highlight to balance a smoky eye.
